I am inquiring about a JOSEPH LAXTON that is listed on the 1860 Jackson County, IL census.
Joseph is living next door to a much older Lewis Lantern

Also 2 doors down or across the farm was a Jesse SAXTON born 1798

Does anyone know who this Joseph LAXTON is? I am looking for a Joseph LANTON whose original surname was actually LANTERN. This Joseph LAXTON, fits the age of the LANTON I am looking for and he also had uncles named Lewis and Jesse born around this time. If someone can claim him for sure with proof, then that will send me on my way searching in another direction. No other Joseph seems to turn up with any similar spelling to my LANTON .
