I am looking for any information concerning Keiffer Laxton. He was born about 1921 and married Sally Nell Williams 28 Aug 1940 in Perry County, Tennessee. They had seven children (John Henry, David Leon, James Lewis, Esther Jane, Shirley Ann, Roy Eugene, and Gary Robert) all born in Paducah, McCracken County, KY. Sometime after 1950 Keiffer vanished. Their children never really knew him. In later years, it was discovered that he had been writing to Sally from Orlando, FL saying that he was saving up money to get back with them. His last letter was received in 1978 also from the Orlando area.
Keiffer and Sally's children do not know if Keiffer is still living or not. Extensive work has been done to find him, to include social security, hiring a lawyer, etc. all to no avail.
Some of the relatives of Keiffer are supposedly buried in Possum Trail Cemetery, near Paducah, KY.
Keiffer had a sister named Stella who at one point married a Bambino. He also had an aunt named Maggie Laxton who was married to Nile C. Spears, Sr.
Keiffer was missing his thumb from his left hand and was approximately 5'10" - 5'11" tall. He was widely known as "Kentucky Bill". Which leads me to believe his full name maybe William Keiffer Laxton or Keiffer William Laxton.
I have found a Keiffer B. Laxton (1904-1961) buried in Old Friendship United Methodist Church Cemetery in Princess Anne, MD. This could possibly be his father or uncle.
According to the Mormon IGI, there was Kiffer Laxton listed as the son of Henry Laxton and Sally LaRue.
Any help would be greatfully appreciated.
