I am interested in Mary Gears who married Mathias Hun(t)singer. Does anyone have any information on the name "Gears" for Mary's surname. I have found her as Mary Grigsby in Edgar and White co.,IL census of 1850 and 1860. I have information about a Mary SEARS who married a Grigsby and am wondering if the name is actually GEARS or could it be SEARS? What documentation exists showing her surname of Gears?
