Hi Guy, Your post on the Hunsinger history is very interesting. My grandma told me that our Hunzingers came from Aarou, Aargau, Switzerland. They were chased out of Switzerland for being Mennonite and settled in Upper Alsace. About a year ago, I bought a book on the Hunsinger family History from an Antique bookdealer in Germany. The book was published in 1920 Stuttgart, GE. I have since been trying to find someone to translate the book for me. A cousin that lives near Hamburg, GE translated a couple of pages for me of a letter that was sent to the Author from my 3rd great grandfather which basically confirms what you said in this post. My moms cousin in Hamburg said that her son has the original family crest on the wall above his fireplace at his home in Switzerland. I would love to see it but nobody has sent me pictures yet. This 3rd gr grandfather says that his great grandfather came from Alsace, across the Rheine as an orphan to the Dept of Sinsheim, GE in the early 1700's. My 3rd gr grandfather was raised as Mennonite but he said he raised his children as Lutheran. Several of his descendents went on to be Lutheran ministers, my great grandfather being one of them. I am very interested in learning more from you on our family and sharing what I have found so far. You can contact me off list if you like. Notify Administrator about this message?
