I recently received a death certificate from Arkansas
regarding my paternal grandmother, Lula Gaston, and was
surprised to see that her name at the time of death (8/9/43)
was Fadden. Based solely on the paucity of information I
have regarding my father's family, it now appears that Lula
and her first husband, Ellis Gaston, were parted by either
divorce or death (probably the latter) in 1904 or later,
and that she then married into the Fadden family. I believe
there was at least one some of this marriage as I have a
picture of a "Pat" which I associate in memory with the name
Fadden. The marriage into the Fadden family occurred either
in Texas, Louisiana or Arkansas. The couple were settled
down in Arkansas (either Bradley or Drew County) by, I suspect, 1910.
I have no further information regarding this
marrige.
Are there any Faddens who can shed further light
on the matter? I would be most grateful.
