George Ebert, (Abert, Eburt) from Baden area according to census records, married Sarah Elizabeth Cole in 1858 in Hardin County. According to George's tombstone, he was born April 1827 and died in 1908. They lived in Dunkirk, Hardin County, where George had a shoemaking shop.
I found a naturalization record for 1856 that stated "George Abert, a native of Baden, " was naturalized during the October term of the court. Only problem is that on the 1900 census, the column for naturalization states that its PENDING.
I need help finding out who George Ebert is, Is he George Abert or some other spelling. Can't trace him back to Germany or Alsace until I can turn up some other information.
I know about his family from the time he married . George is my Great great grandfather.
