Hope someone can help as I am really stuck Am trying to complete my husband's family tree for a surprise Christmas gift and not getting very far. Oral family history has them originating in Ireland What I have so far is his grandfather Sam Colman born 1885 in Lancashire, died 1922 in a mining accident in Bolton, Lancashire. Married Hannah Gee born 1885 in Lancashire. They had 4 children, Elsie, Sam 1915,Jack 1916 (my husband's father), Enid 1920. Enid is still living but not able to assist. Sam's widow Hannah moved to blackpool and opened a boarding house. Sam's father was Thomas Coleman (note the change in spelling of the last name)Thomas was born abt 1850, in Birkenhad, Cheshire, England. Married Elizabeth, had 5 children; Mary Ellen 1870, Henry 1876, Ann 1879, Samuel 1885 and Margaret 1888/9. The 1871 through 1901 census has them living in Pemberton, Lancashire. I have a clue for Thomas' parents, but not nailed down yet John Coleman born 1813 in Ireland. Married Mary born 1823. They had 8 children Michael 1842, John 1845, William 1847, James 1849, Thomas 1851, Mary Ann 1853, Martin 1858, Catherine 1860. Michael, John and William were born in Ireland the rest born in Stockport, Cheshire, England. If anyone can help me create a very special Christmas present for my husband I would be most grateful.
