I have an original postcard family photograph of “Elias Engle, (son) Samuel Samuel Kelley Engle, (granddaughter Agnes) Marie Engle, (daughter) Molly Coleman, and (granddaughter) Ruth Coleman”, which I’d like to get back to descendants or family members. Photo was taken in about 1911, and most likely near Elias’s home in Randolph Co., IN.
I found the family of Elias C. Engle and wife Ruth Anne Thornburg, in OneWorldTree, and in 1880, 1900-1920 censuses. In 1880, Elias and Ruth Anne lived in Jefferson Co., KS and one daughter was Mary E., age 12 (Molly). In 1900, Elias lived in Washington (Randolph Co.) IN, showing his birth Dec 1838 OH, and Samuel K., birth Oct 1884 KS. In 1910, Elias was age 71, Samuel K. was 25, and Samuel’s daughter was Agnes. In 1910/1920 census for Colfax Co., NM, Orvella and Mary E. Coleman (born MN abt 1868), lived with daughter Ruth (born NM abt 1901).
Ancestry Message Board shows Samuel Kelley Engle went by the name of Kelley, and had a daughter Marie (Agnes Marie), and lived on his father’s homestead. OWT shows his DOB as 21 Oct 1884 Jefferson Co., KS, and wife was Ines.
