Information from a 1790 Tax List found he was the son of Edmund Hooper (son of Thomas and Unity) b. abt 1764 died 1813-14 Hanover, Va. m. Elizabeth b. abt 1775 d. 1830. Sons were James, Richard, Thomas, Wiliam J. and Obadiah.
