Colleen, Patrick County is on the VA/NC border. My greatgrandpa was John Moore Washburn. His daddy was from Halifax County, VA which a little more to the east of Patrick. But these Washburns came from Culpeper. My line goes something like this: Grace Thompson Washburn (married Ronald Brown) born 1896 was my grandma. John Moore Washburn born 1846 died 1912 was her daddy. Thompson Comer Washburn was John Moore Washburn's daddy. John H. Washburn (the elder one) was Thompson Washburn's daddy. He was married twice, once to a Jinnet lady and then to Thompson Comer Washburn's mother, Mildred Comer. John H. Washburn's daddy was Eley or Elias or Eli Washburn who was married to a Haney Washburn (cousins I believe). Eley's dad was John Washburn of Culpeper and Haney's dad was Thomas Washburn of Culpeper.
