Have you checked out his birth record or the name of his father on the his marriage certificate? None of this will prove anything but it may help. The Suffolk RO at Lowestoft may well have some papers on the Union Workhouse (Oulton) and Flixton parish also. n.b Beware there are two places called Flixton in Suffolk Births Sep 1875 Newbury George Charles Mutford 4a 759 Births Dec 1876 Newby George Newby Depwade 4b 239
