Miss Adelaide E. Schmidt of 1003 1/2 Timea died at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday in St Joseph hospital after a serious illness of month.

The daughter of Alfred John and Barbara Hohl Schmidt she was born and spent all of her life in Keokuk where she was graduated from the high schoool.

Employed at Blom-Collier Co. in her early life she later worked many years at Schouten's Bakery and finally for Copeland's Bakery.

She was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ, its S.T.S.G. club, Elmira chapter, O.E.S., Malta Shrine, White Shrine of Jersalem, Past Worthy Matron's club and Past Worthy High Priestess club.

Surviving are a brother, Herbert P. of Ottumwa and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Alfred, Arthur and Raymond.

The funeral will be held Friday at 3:30 p.m. in DeJong's Funeral Home iwth the Rev. Hoyt L. Whitebread officating. Burial will be at Oakland cemetery.
