My great grandfather Carl Freidrich Wilhelm Schmidt, born Sack by Kommerow, Stettin, Pommern arrived in US in October 1869 and worked in Wisconsin for 5 years before coming to Kansas - Lyona Community. I don't know anything about his father and his mother died when he was 7 years old. He had an uncle John who settled in Watertown or Brillion Wisconsin. I have no information on them. He also had a brother William(?) who changed his name to Schmitz and settled in Oklahoma. no info on them either. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who could further my information on this line.
