Thank you George for explaining that. It is very interesting. I was just wondering about it but my line descends from one of Mary Priest and Phineas Pratt's sons, then follows Pratts on down through Kezia Pratt who married Moses Holmes. For years I've know my Holmes ancestor was connected to the Mayflower because his obituary says "he was of Puritan stock and his ancestors can be traced to the Mayflower". It was however only very recently that I finally found out which Holmes it was that connected me. So now I am trying to learn more about Degory and his family. Again thanks for the explaination. penny b
