Hi Adam: I know of a William Carrigan born in 1870. He was born in Nova Scotia to Patrick and Ellen Carrigan. His siblings were Patrick, John Thomas, Elizabeth, Andrew and Thomas (my grandfather). This information I obtained from the 1881 Canadian Census. The 1891 census shows that all were in the same household with the exception of father Patrick who I believe was killed in a logging accident. There is no record of them in the 1901 census and I believe they had moved to Boston prior to that. I don't know who stayed in the US but I do know that at least John Thomas and Thomas returned. Andrew may have been killed in a train accident in Boston. I don't know what became of William. Not sure if this is the William you are looking for but his birthdate is the same.
