Washington Post, Tuesday, June 16, 1914 John B. Bloss Funeral services for John B. Bloss, who died Saturday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Luther S. Fristoe, 3309 Seventeenth Street Northwest, were held yesterday afternoon at the residence at 4 o’clock. The Reverend C. Everest Granger, pastor of Gunton Temple Memorial Church, officiated. Burial was at Glenwood Cemetery. Mr. Bloss was 84 years old and had been a resident of Washington for more than 60 years. He was President of the Board of Trustees of the Gunton Temple Memorial Presbyterian Church, and was at one time clerk in the land office of the Interior Department. He was a member of the District of Columbia volunteers during the Civil War, and was an eyewitness to the assassination of President Lincoln. |
