No. I have not discovered who James Weir's parents were. The later censuses indicate James was born in NC, and I have hunted records in the area for Weirs. It has been a while since I have done research, but I remember that there was a John and Robert Weir in that part of NC swapping land in the middle to late 1700's. I think both had sons and I could not determine which one his father might have been. There is another piece I have not pursued and need to and that is James Adam Weir probably went to Chapel Hill. Many of the Carrigans did and James Adam Weir was reputed to have been fluent in three languages. My guess they would have been English, Greek, and Latin. I have not gotten around to asking Chapel Hill to look through their records for him.

Do keep an eye out for me and let me know if you find anything.
