Philip Carrigan b. abt. 1820 married a Catherine McGovern b. abt. 1820 and they had a daughter Margaret Carrigan b. 1841 in Dowra.
Margaret Carrigan married a John Patrick Cornyn and they lived in Corlisbannon, Killinagh, Cavan, Ireland. They had several children (Catherine, Margaret, Rose, James, Murty) who immigrated to the US. John died in Corlisbannon about 1909.
Margaret Cornyn nee Carrigan immigrated to Chicago about 1921 and died in Highland Park, Illinoois in 1929.
Much of the data came from the death certificate of Margaret Cornyn nee McGovern. She is buried in All Saints Catholic Cemetery in Des Plaines, IL.
A daughter of John Cornyn and Margaret Carrigan, Elizabeth Cornyn married a James McGovern and they had a daughter Mary A. McGovern. Both Elizabeth and James died before the 1901 census of Ireland. In the 1901 census, Mary McGovern is living with John and Margaret Cornyn. In the 1911 census, only Margaret Cornyn and Mary A. McGovern are living in the household.
The daughter of James McGovern and Elizabeth Cornyn, Mary A. McGovern, married a John Sheridan of Legnatroghta, Glangevlin, Cavan, Ireland. I think they married in Chicago, Illinois and all their children were born in Chicago, IL. Mary died in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1988.
