P. S. According to my notes, the children of James Carrigan, Sr. and Isabel Brown were: Jane Carrigan (c.1751, m. Samuel Pickens), Rebecca Carrigan (c.1753, m. Samuel McCullough), Mary Carrigan (c.1754-1829, m. Hugh Hayr/Hair), Martha Carrigan (c.1755-1808, m. Thomas Hayr/Hair), Margaret Carrigan (c.1757-1817, m. James Barr), Isabel "Sibby" Carrigan (c.1758-1824), Robert Carrigan (c.1759-1779), William Adolphus Carrigan (1760-1844, m. Catherine Adams), Rev. John Carrigan (?-1822, m. Martha Clarke) and James Carrigan, Jr. (c.1770-1840, m. Margaret ?).
Only a few miles away from the Coddle Creek Church where James Carrigan, Sr. and Isabel Brown are buried is the Ramah Presbyterian Church, where their son, Rev. John Carrigan, was minister for a time. It is recorded in a history of the Ramah Church that one of the first sermons preached by Rev. John Carrian there was the funeral service for Benjamin Brown (1721-1801). While it doesn't say so in the book, I've always suspected Benjamin Brown may have been Isabel Brown Carrigan's brother.
