Greg, I just read your follow-up to Adams post. The Patrick and Ellen Carrigan you mention - besides William would you know of any other children they had? My Carrigan line is from a Dugald Carrigan, born about 1864/65 in West River, Nova Scotia. The only odd thing is that I have Dugalds mother as Mary - not Ellen. I do know Dugald had a younger brother, William, born around 1870, but I have William as killed in the 1891 Springhill mine explosion and married to a Cassie McDougal. I am probably adding confusion, but the names and times are close, so I thought I would look into it. Also - Adam - I have a connection to Detroit, Michigan. Dugald Carrigan [my Great Grandfather] had a son William, born Oct 30, 1892 in Springhill, Nova Scotia. He apparently lived in Detroit and he died January 31, 1949 in a Newark hospital. As well, William had 2 sisters who lived in Detroit. Mae Carrigan married Warren Gerber in Detroit, and Evelyn Carrigan married Irving Norkowski, also of Detroit. These would all be my mothers Aunts and Uncles, and I believe all of Dugalds children were born in Springhill. Mom remembers visiting them in Detroit with her father, Francis Harmon Carrigan when she was a teenager in the 40's. Anyway - if any of this looks familiar please let me know.
