C, 6th Arkansas Cavalry, at Washington, Arkansas, May 15, 1862; elected second lieutenant, May 15, 1862; promoted first lieutenant, July 28, 1862; present, April 30, 1863; absent sick since June 20, 1863; died of disease at Washington, Arkansas, January 3, 1864; born in North Carolina, September 3, 1832; buried in Old Washington Cemetery, Hempstead county, Arkansas; listed in Hempstead county 1860 census with wife Ann E.; occupation farmer; filed Federal land patents in Hempstead county in 1859 and 1861.
