Hi Christine,

Don't know if he's your guy, but a Lawrence W. Carpenter, b. 1928-9, is listed in the 1930 census in Corinth, Orange, VT.
Listed with:
Father Manley, b. abt 1889,
Mother Florence M., b. abt 1907,
Sibling (says daughter) Varner W., b. abt 1918,
Sibling (brother) Robert M., b. 1927
