"Josiah Davis, b. 1819 Champaign Co., OH to John DAvis & Mary Elizabeth Newland as indicated in IGI. John & Mary Davis are my G3 grandparents. I Have no further proven information concerning Josiah although his parents moved to White Co., IN in 1835. Josiah may have joined them in IN."
Melanie Pike entered message 1125 on CALVERT GenForum board 17 Aug 2001. She states that Josiah & Hulda Davis (her G2 grandparents) were living on a farm next to Levi and Esther Davis who she believed was Josiah's brother.
Josiah, b. 1819 Champaign Co., OH was the child of John & Mary Elizabeth "Isabella" Newland [1801-1844]. We believe Mary was d/o Marcus Newland and Catherine Weir of Frederick Co., VA and that they were m. about 1818 in VA. John Davis [1800-1882] was s/o Abel & Mary (Huffman) Davis who resided in Monongalia Co., VA from about 17 90 to 1818 when Abel and family moved to Champaign Co., OH and in 1835 moved to White Co., IN where Abel d. 1847. Abel appears to be the s/o Benjamin & Hannah Davis of Loudoun Co., VA. Benjamin DAvis d. testate 1803. Mary appears to be the d/o John Huffman, Sr. who d. testate in Loudoun Co.1792. I would like to correspond with Vicky or Melanie (Davis) Pike or both since it appears we are cousins.
