Hello Kevin, As a descendant of George Calvert, First Lord Baltimore, I have a lot of early info on the family. He was from Danby Wiske in Northeast Yorkshire. I have him being born probably before 1525. Sadly, I didn't know this when I was tooling around in this part of Yorkshire. The village is still on the British Atlas and the largest town around would be Northallerton. I have not checked the atlas to see where your district of Halifax is but I shall when time permits. I hope this will give you a lead and if you should want any more info just let me know. I believe the 1525 date is the earliest I have on the family.

Mary Tuttle Sinnott
