Cynthia is said to have married 3 different Calvert cousins. Her sons were: Alexander b 1783 and George Augustine b 1788(both in Bedford).
Just who were the husbands of Cynthia? Fathers of the Children?
It certainly is necessary for DNA participants in this regard. I cannot prove any husband of Cynthia but suspect that Francis Calvert b1751 is one of them. He officially shows his first marriage in 1791 to Elizabeth Witt and second wife Elizabeth Rose. He had numerous progeny. But to remain single until age 40, especially in light of the number of Children of Francis seems to stretch credibility.
Francis of PW Co to Bedford no less.
Of course, the relationship(s) may have been a liaison. Francis is not the only suspect. If you fit into the Calverts of PW (and before that Stafford) County VA and can participate in the Calvert Surname project at FT/DNA, please post here or drop an email.
Research is needed of course but the DNA project is stalled because of the need of DNA participants, particularly for the sons of Cynthia who is said to have married 3 Calvert cousins. We have a proven line of Calverts with DNA samples but the samples mismatch other lines of Calverts who descend from John Calvert of Deephole Farm or George Calvert b 1694 m Constance [--?--] Probably Barton.
If you can assist with the DNA Project for any descendants of George or John, would be helpful. We are particularly pursuing at this time, Cynthia and her descent.
