I would like help finding information on Jacob Bedford and Elizabeth (---). They are my ggggg-grandparents.
I found their names in the book “The Families of Atkinson of Roxby”, 1933, by Harold Waring Atkinson, which has their son Isaac Bedford married to Abigail Atkinson on 8 Feb 1762. After her death, Isaac married Mary Smith on 26 Nov 1778. Isaac’s occupation is listed as a draper. All his children were born at Old Sampford. Extract from the diaries of James Jenkins: "1797-3-14 Died at his house at Plaistow, Essex, my friend Isaac Bedford. I have been kindly entertained at his house when he was a farmer and resided near Colchester." Isaac was born in 1735, Saffron Walden, Essex, England.
Isaac’s son, Thomas Bedford, emigrated to America. Also coming to America were at least two brothers and an uncle. Thomas married Jane Thompson in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in April of 1796. Thomas was a member of the Society of Friends, or Quakers. I do not have any information on Jane Thompson.
