Peter Anderson of Geneva and Ray Bedford of Centerville Mich. were killed and several other trainmen badly injured in a collision between two Northwestern freight trains in the yards at Geneva yesterday evening. Both engines were badly demolished. A loaded oil tank car was tipped over and fire from the wreck set the oil ablaze, causing an exlosion which shook the ground for a long ways. The flames spread rapidly and a number of cars were burning. The fire department of Geneva was summoned and soon had the fire under control. The west bound train was coming down a steep grade at a fast rate of speed in order to make an up grade west of town and ran through an open switch crashing into the other train. The officials refuse to discuss the cause of the accident. The two trains were in charge of Conductors J. Cary and E.F. Cary, brothers of West Chicago.
