Dear Lydia,
I am talking the liberty of writing to you - the name is the same.
My grandfather's eldest sister Sarah Rachel Drew (born in 1858) married Horace Edward Bedford in 1879 in Mile End OT. They had at least five children, viz. Walter Frederick (born about 1881), Alice (1883), William (1887), Jessie (1890) and Annie (1892). The family, less Walter Frederick was still in the East End of London according to the 1901 UK Census.
Family tradition has the family migrating to Canada, but I do not know when - maybe Walter Frederick had already gone and they joined him later (?)
I do know that Sarah Rachel (Sally) and her brother James Drew (who also migrated to Canada at some stage) visited their brother, my grandfather in Poplar around about some time in 1930 (plus or minus a year or two).
Has anyone seen or heard of any of these Bedfords (or even James Drew (born in 1865)?
