Hi Karen,
I have no info on this Benjamin but I'm linked to the Batt family through my Aunt in S.Wales.
Also my Kimber family lived in Tollard Royal and nearby the Donheads. In fact in the 1800's Tollard was full of my Kimber line. I wondered if you have any Kimbers in your tree. Also my gt grandmother Mary Ann Short married my gt grandfather Alfred Kimber b.1857 Donhead St Andrew or Tollard Royal. Her father Moses Short b.1826 in Bitton,Gloucestershire, where there seemed to be a big concentration of Batts.I was talking with my cousin last night and she said that Bitton rang a bell, so I could be linked to the Bitton Batts and /or possibly your line. My line also had a large concentration of Kimbers in Kington Magna not far from Blandford.
