Hello,
I am interested in knowing more about Henry Batt and Sarah, b. Vinnay who married in Dartmouth on 11 March 1789(according to a posting on this site, http://genforum.genealogy.com/batt/messages/298.html).
I assume their daugther Sally (b. 1791) is my great-great grandmother.
Rumour has it that my great-great grandfather Jacob Kirsebom Jahnsen was seized by a ship led by Henry Batt, and taken prisoner during the Napoleonic wars (Denmark-Norway was allied with France). He later married captain Batt's daugther, Sally.
They had 12 children, among them my great- grandfather, John Adolf Jahnsen, born 1814.
According to a posting on this site, Henry's parents were Henry and Mary Cummins, married 26 July 1769 (http://genforum.genealogy.com/batt/messages/353.html)
Any more info on Henry and Sarah would be greatly appreciated.
